Richard A. Gould m'a dédicacé il y a 20 ans, l'un des ouvrages dont il avait alors dirigé l'édition : Shipwreck Anthropology, publication du School of American Research Advanced Seminar, Albuquerque, 1981. Les contributions sont signées entre autres de Georges F. Bass, Richard Gould, Larry Murphy et Dan Lenihan (les deux derniers qui travaillent au National Park Service, sont intervenus pour "superviser" la fouille de l'Alabama.) Tous soutiennent bien entendu l'approche anthropologique de l'archéologie sous-marine et sont en opposition avec l'approche historique de la plus part des européens.
