The beach of Ramla Tat-Torri is once again quiet. Our team of 14 persons now make up the majority of the persons at the bay. At 08:00 am we set up the tent and received the delivery of the cylinders and other diving equipment.

Joanne Mallia and Frank Chetcuti, both from the Malta Centre of Restoration, join us today. The pump is installed on the edge of a small quay and the pipes measure more than 20m enabling us to work on various areas within the grid within which we hope to locate the wreck.

A very nice person that resides in one of the boathouses lent us a boat. We use it to take the GPS readings of the bouys that mark out the grid.

The first trench was completed yesterday with no positive results so we decided to start a second. The students took the manual measurements of the bouys and we compare these to the GPS readings… and they match!

At midday Timmy Gambin went to pick up the usual cold lunch and after a short break we set up the pump to continue with the afternoon’s work. A shout from the surface was heard above the noise of the pumps and caught everyone’s attention.

Timmy found some old planks that are well worn by the worm Teredos Navalis…this is in all probaility a small part of our wreck.
