Diversion dans la baie de Ramla Tat-Torri.

The seventh of June is a national holiday on Malta. At Ramla Tat-Torri all the small ‘boat-houses’ are full of their occupants who are taking advantage of the good weather. We set up all the necessary equipment on the large inflateable ‘Diversion’. Also set up were all the ropes needed to guide the boat along the zone earmarked for survay. Two ropes set up between the boat and the coast were used to guide the fish across the survey zone. Runs were carried out every two metres.

In the afternnon, a local man indicated a zone where he claims to have seen some timbers belonging to the wreck. We decided to take advantage of having the boat and surveyed the small area indicated by the local person. It formed a square approximately 30 metres from the shore. But the zone is full of buoys thus impeding proper survey work.

We used our vechile’s batteries to charge the survey equipment and had a nasty surprise when we discovered that we did not have enough charge to start our cars !
