Torri Il Abjad, la tour de guet qui donne son nom au site.

We believe that we are close to the wreck because a local diver tells us that we are searching close to where he had seen it when it was uncovered by bad weather. He dives for a long while with Timmy Gambin and indicates that the area is close to where we are to start our fourth trench. This latest news stimulates the divers to work harder. The dredges are in place and we start the trench that is about 30cm deep and 75cm wide. The depth corresponds to the depth of the initial layer of sand. In this trench we discover musket shot that has not been fired. We can deduce from the fact that it has no markings on it.

La ferrure trouvée par Souad. |
At the end of the bay we still haven’t found the wood. At the end of their dive, Souad Lamouti and Joanne Malia find a concretion measuring over 150 cm which has a strange shape. In the afternoon I walk up the small hill to take a photo of the small tower that lends its name to the bay where we are working.
